Why did the back to the future ride close?
Closure. By the early 2000s, the popularity of Back to the Future: The Ride was in decline. Universal was also in the process of replacing other older attractions with modern intellectual properties. In mid-2006, industry insiders speculated that the Florida installation would be closing.
Despite the walls, the ride remains open, with no plans to close in the foreseeable future. The gift shop is closed, however. During the construction, the entrance has been rerouted through the exit.
The Simpsons Ride opened in May 2008, replacing Back to the Future: The Ride, which had closed in March 2007.

Not everyone's happy. On TikTok, tribute videos to Splash Mountain had thousands of likes, and more than 70 containers of water purportedly swiped from the ride were up for sale on eBay.
Universal Studios May Lose 'The Simpsons'
The popular animated television family has a land both at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. Neither company has commented on when the rights deal for "The Simpsons," expires, but it's widely expected that the deal will end in 2028.
Redoing the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man alone would be incredibly difficult and expensive, let alone the entirety of Marvel Super Hero Island. Considering all of this, it's safe to say that Universal's Marvel-themed land isn't going anywhere.
The Simpsons Ride and all other attractions and restaurants remain on the website. With the Simpsons contract set to expire in 2028 and based on the rumors that it is unlikely that Universal will look to renew, time definitely seems to be running out for Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and Maggie.
Following the Summer opening of the park, Universal temporarily shut down the ride in August 1990 and sued Ride & Show Engineering, Inc. for failing to properly design the ride. Throughout 1991 and early 1992, Universal attempted to refurbish the effects of the ride for an eventual re-opening, but with no success.

The attraction Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey found at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade in Universal's Islands of Adventure will be closed June 8, 2023, for routine maintenance.

There have been rumors that the contract for The Simpsons will run out sometime in 2028. Inside the Magic reported on Universal dropping Springfield from its “Land Page Hub” on its official website, indicating Universal may be gearing up to close the ride for good.
While there have been a Back to the Future animated show and comic book series, it's unlikely Back to the Future will be getting a movie remake at any point in the near future.

The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is definitely the scariest ride in Universal Studios Orlando and will absolutely make your heart pound as you make your way through. You can expect two separate launches, with one of them going up to 70 mph into a 140 foot drop and even an inverted zero-gravity stall.
